Gabriel García Márquez - the Master of Magic Realism

The Colombian author of One Hundred Years of Solitude left his mark on a generation of Spanish literature and became the preeminent example of magic realism. In the first issue of the re-launched Vanity Fair, in 1983, the magazine published the novellaChronicle of a Death Foretold in its entirety. His quote, “Everyone has three lives: a public life, a private life, and a secret life,” appeared on the cover of the May issue.
